The competition will take place on 17 November 2026 from 12.00 UTC. Participants will join the challenge online via the LMS website associated with the sponsors companies, with 24 hours to complete their runs using the Electric Arc Furnace simulator.
For the high school pilot, students will work with a simplified Electric Arc Furnace simulator that reflects the principles of refining steel to meet target chemistry and temperature conditions at lowest price. The challenge encourages problem-solving, teamwork, and strategic thinking while introducing participants to sustainability and efficiency in steel production.
